MRT Sri Raya: Frustrated residents now want PM Najib to intervene
The residents are not against the development but want the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) to take responsibility over the issues cropping up in the area. - Astro AWANI
Residents of Taman Sri Raya, Cheras whose houses were affected by the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station and line construction near the area are now asking for the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to intervene.
The 66 houses have been experiencing cracks, leaking roofs and flash floods and the owners have brought up their case to the Shah Alam High Court three years ago, but were told to settle the matter out of court.
The residents, led by K Sugakumaran, 55, said their calls for compensation have fell on deaf ears.
A memorandum was subsequently handed over to the Prime Minister's Department, Thursday morning.

"We are tired of waiting. We want the Prime Minister to look into the problem and help us. The cracks are getting worse.
"We have been waiting for MRT to fix this and after three years, some residents have carried out the repair works themselves. This is unfair," he told Astro AWANI.
He said the residents are not against the development but want the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) to take responsibility over the issues cropping up in the area.
