The dreams of V. Renugah who was supposed to get married next year was dashed after she was killed in an accident when an express bus plunged into a ravine at Km137.3 of the North South Expressway near Kampung Jayo here, this morning.
Her brother, V. Sri Nivasan, 30, said the 25-year-old Renugah had made preparations to get married in Klang in March, 2017.
"My youngest sister who worked in Singapore often talked about her wedding preparations to me before this," he told reporters when met at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital mortuary here today.
The atmosphere at the mortuary was sombre as several family members and relatives of passengers who died in the tragedy came to identify the bodies.
Also at the mortuary were Renugah's parents - K. Sinawah and K. Velauntam - who could not control their emotion.
Sri Nivasan said he immediately went to Muar with his family members from Klang, Selangor as soon as he received news at 10am when his mother was preparing Renugah's favourite vegetarian curry for her homecoming.
"I was shocked and could not do anything when I heard the news from her friend. I only told my mother that Renugah was involved in an accident," he said adding that he only told Sinawah about his sister's death when they arrived at the hospital at 1pm.
Sri Nivasan said his sister was a friendly person who loved to crack jokes with her family members whenever she returned home at Taman Bayu Perdana, Klang.
The bus which was travelling to Kuala Lumpur from Johor Bahru plunged into the ravine after losing control, killing 14 and injuring 16 passengers. -- BERNAMA
