The increase for the MPs was proposed in the Budget 2015 presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak last month.
The Malaysian Council of ex-Elected Representatives (Mubarak) hopes that state governments would increase the allowance of their assemblymen.
Its president Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman said it was only fair, considering that members of parliament (MP) would receive an increase next year.
The increase for the MPs was proposed in the Budget 2015 presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak last month.
"Usually when the MPs' allowance is raised, the state representatives would also get an increase.
"Selangor and Sarawak have already increased their assemblymen's allowance and we hope other states would follow suit," he told Bernama when met here on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Sabah Mubarak chief Datuk Yussof Abd Manan said he was made to understand that the state government was prepared to increase the allowance of its assemblymen.
