Umno Deputy President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin ridiculed the opposition, saying the pact will always quarrel with one another due to differing ideologies.

“DAP not only does not want to share power with Pas, but it has also rejected Pas’ Islamic policies,” said Muhyiddin during his opening speech for Umno’s wings' during the party’s 66th general assembly on
Tuesday night.

He said the pact between Pas, DAP and PKR was not based on power sharing because there is no trust between the coalition.

He said ongoing issues in Selangor, Penang, Kedah and Kelantan clearly showed how the opposition are not able to share their power.

“One main reason is that there’s no trust between them. PKR does not trust DAP, DAP does not trust PKR and both DAP and PKR do not trust Pas."

“Pas is a horse for DAP and PKR for them to ride on. Pas is merely the party that shouts the takbir for them,” he said.

Muhyiddin also doubted Pas’ inability in forming an Islamic state is because they do not have enough seats, which explains their change of tune in wanting to form a welfare state instead.

"Pas’ weak position in the coalition is the reason why they will not be able to form an Islamic state. Even if Pas wins all seats, they still cannot form a government to uphold an Islamic state like what they have been bragging about,” he added.
