During Ramadan, the reward of good deeds from Allah are increased significantly, thus all Muslims should take this opportunity to increase their ibadah and avoid cooking up excuses for themselves, said a religious teacher from Tajwid Al- Quran School of AlBukhary in Kuala Lumpur.
"During this fasting month, all the rewards of good deeds will multiply by seven-fold. What we can afford to do during Ramadan is to at least try to join congregational prayers at the mosque five times a day and multiplied our rawatib prayers." said Ustazah Masni Mochtar.
"So, we need to be patient, we to have to possess strong determination to do good deeds in Ramadan and what is paramount is that, don't give too much excuses to yourself," she said in an interview with Astro AWANI, Thursday.
There are three levels of fasting for Muslims.
"The general fast means an individual is obliged to abstain oneself from eating, drinking and coitus with his partner. He can’t control his eyes movement, his mouth, his ear, his hand and his leg from committing maksiat (sinful acts).
“The specific part of fasting is to refrain one's gaze, tongue, hands, feet, hearing and eyes, as well as the rest of his body parts from committing sinful acts,” she said, adding that the most successful part of fasting is when one can control his heart.
“Thirdly, is the high level of fasting, the more specific fast. Whoever can fast in this level is called the Muqarrabbin. This level is for Rasul and Nabi. The heart’s abstention from its yearning after the worldly affairs and the thoughts which distance one away from Allah.
