Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman extended his condolences to the family of Tungku assemblyman Datuk Mohd Suhaili Said, who died this afternoon.
Musa, who is also Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman and state UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the state government of Sabah and both parties.
Mohd Suhaili was also chairman of the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis).
"We are saddened by the death of a comrade, elected representative and leader who was very committed and dedicated in carrying out his duties, whether in the party or the government," Musa said in a statement here.
Musa said over the years, Mohd Suhaili made many contributions to the state and the people of Sabah, especially to the people in the state constituency he represented.
"We share the grief and sympathy with the whole family. May they be given the fortitude and patience in the face of their loss. May God bless his soul," said Musa.
Mohd Suhaili, 56, died at about 3.10pm today at Gleneagles Hospital, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur due to liver cancer. He is survived by his wife Datin Dayang Sofia Datu Jamiuddin and six children.
It is understood that his remains would be brought back to Kampung Remang Jalan Silabukan in Tungku, Lahad Datu, tomorrow before being buried at the Muslim cemetery in Kampung Segangan. - BERNAMA
