Musa Hassan: Sanjeevan was too outspoken

He said that he had advised Sanjeevan not to be outspoken and to solve several issues through the right channel.

“Sanjeevan is too outspoken, and I’ve advised him that if has any information, he needs to go to MACC. If he wants to cooperate with the police, do it properly. Cooperate with the police that he trust, give them (the information) for them to take action. But he decided to do his own monitoring. He was in Jempol to monitor and he received threats,” he told Astro AWANI.

Musa advised all non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to use the right channel if they want to channel any information regarding crime in this country.

He also said that NGOs involved in crime issues should realise that they need to comply with existing laws and need to follow the right procedures.

On his role with My Watch, Musa said he is only the patron of the NGO and will always follow the procedures if he has any information.

“If I am too outspoken or straightforward, people will think that I am anti-government, anti-police. I am a former policeman and I love the police squad.

“That’s why I said that if we want to elevate the police’s image or improve the public’s perception of the police, it can only be done with the policeman. If they’re honest, people will trust them. That’s it,” he said.

He was commenting on the shooting incident of My Watch president Sanjeevan near Taman Cempaka, in Negeri Sembilan last Saturday.
