Kelantan UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed today spent 20 minutes visiting two tahfiz school students injured in a road crash at Km 55 Jalan Kuala Krai-Kota Bharu yesterday.
The two tahfiz school students were Ahmad Syakir Azfar Abdul Rahim, 16, who was in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Muhammad Syuwari Mana Sikana who was in normal ward of Kuala Krai Hospital.
Ahmad Syakir has abdominal injury while Muhammad Syuwari has a fractured arm.
"On behalf of Kelantan UMNO, I would like to convey condolences to the families of the seven students who died in the road crash yesterday morning.
"May their soul be placed among the believers," the minister of International Trade and Industry told reporters after visiting the victims at Kuala Krai Hospital here, today.
Seven others were injured, five of them seriously, in the crash at about 9.40am.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Syuwari's mother, Kartina Ismail, 40, said she was informed of the road crash by one of his son's friends just after Friday prayers (afternoon).
"After Muhammad Syuwari regained consciousness, I asked him about the crash but he did not remember anything as it happened so fast. He is still traumatised by the injury sustained."
The crash occurred when 12 students and two teachers of Al-Hashimi Tahfiz School in Kampung Tualang , here were travelling in a van to Kota Bharu for a Ramadan function at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium.
