Myanmar extends state of emergency for 6 more months

YANGON: Myanmar's National Defence and Security Council on Monday announced the extension of the state of emergency for six more months, Xinhua news agency reported.
The extension was made for necessary preparations for the multi-party general elections, the announcement said.
