Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE) is targeting a collection of RM2 million for the Aleppo Emergency Appeal launched by its agency, i4Syria today.

MyCARE chief executive officer Kamarul Zaman Shaharul Anwar, in a statement, here today said the collection was aimed at helping the residents in Aleppo, Syria to brave the winter.

"The main aid needed in that city are food, medicine and winter essentials such as tents, blankets, heaters and clothes. So far the fund collected is RM275,885.36," he said.

He said the public wishing to contribute to the appeal could bank in via accounts at Maybank Islamic (5642-5856-0698), Bank Islam (1209-20100-34904) or CIMB Islamic (8602-135-592). -- Bernama
