MyCEB requests industry partner to remove VM2020 logo gradually
VM2020 logo in all marketing collateral to be replaced with Malaysia Truly Asia logo.
Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) requests all industry partners to relook at their marketing campaign and gradually remove VM2020 logo in all marketing collateral and replace it with Malaysia Truly Asia logo.
MyCEB Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Abdul Khani Daud said MyCEB would also like to encourage all industry partners to take advantage of the stimulus package offered by the government to the industry in this trying situation.
"Let's together pray for the COVID-19 situation to subside soon and in the meantime, i would like to urge all industry players to adhere to Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry and Health Ministry's guidelines and procedures in curbing the virus from further spreading.
"We shall remain strong and begin to relook at our next strategy in making Malaysia a preferred business event destination as soon as the industry rebound," expressed," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Abdul Khani added that in line with the announcement made by Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri on the cancellation of Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020) campaign due to the COVID-19 outbreak with immediate effect.
Due to the Movement Control Order from March 18 to 31, 2020, to curb the spread of COVID-19, the ministry had to freeze all over-the-counter and online services for its Tourism Licensing Division.
Nancy said VM2020 campaign was cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19 on the local and international tourism sector.
