Mysterious package at Wisma Bernama turns out to be bottle filled with cooking oil

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Mohd Roy Suhaimi Sarif said they had dispatched the bomb disposal unit (UPB) and the canine (K9) unit to go to the scene as soon as they received the report.

"After inspection, the UPB had detonated the package and found it to have contained cooking oil and cotton," he said when contacted by Astro AWANI.

"Detonating the package was part of the UPB standard operating procedure," he added.

Roy said the police are investigating to identify the individuals responsible behind the whole episode.

In the 5.33pm incident, Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department personnel were dispatched to the scene after a mysterious package with a bomb threat note was found.
