The Negeri Sembilan government is identifying a suitable location for the transit station of the Kuala Lumpur–Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) expected to be fully operational by 2026.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the area would also be developed as an integrated public transport terminal for bus, taxi and train services.
"The location of the Seremban HSR station has yet to be determined but it will not stop at the train station (in Seremban). We will choose an area where it will also become an integrated terminal providing bus, taxi and train
services.
"We are in the midst of identifying the perfect location to be developed as an integrated terminal that will provide convenience to the public," he told reporters after attending the Negeri Sembilan Education Department Aidilfitri open house here today.
Also present were State Education and Health Committee Chairman Datuk Shamsulkahar Mohd Deli and State Education Director Rusni Ab Jalil.
On July 19, Malaysia and Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the HSR project, signifying both countries' commitment towards this iconic project.
The HSR project, targeted for commercial operations in 2026, will have eight stations, namely Bandar Malaysia, Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat, Iskandar Puteri and Singapore.
