Najib: BN's victory in Kuala Besut proof Umno still shining

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the Barisan Nasional's (BN) victory in the Kuala Besut by-election today is proof that Umno is still shining.

As such, the Prime Minister said efforts to strengthen Umno further would continue so that the people's confidence in the BN will grow stronger.

"Thank God. BN has won in Kuala Besut and thanks to all the voters in Kuala Besut who supported the BN.

"God willing, we will fulfill all the pledges we made in the Kuala Besut by-election," he told reporters after he and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor hosted a breaking of the fast event for friends, Umno division heads of the party's Puteri, Pemuda dan Wanita wings at his official residence Seri Perdana here tonight.

Najib said this in commenting on the victory of BN candidate Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abd Rahman in the by-election by a majority of 2,592 votes over PAS candidate Endot@Azlan Yusof.
