Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has strongly condemned the attack by Yemeni Houthis for launching a guided missile at Makkah recently.
Najib said the incident should be lesson to all Muslims in Malaysia so as not to allow squabbles among themselves to open opportunities for the enemies to desecrate the holy city of Makkah.
"Recently, the Yemeni Houthi tribes launched a guided ballistic missile at Makkah but fortunately the Saudi troops were able to intercept the guided missile before it caused any damage.
"Indeed the incident disappointed all Muslims all over the world...Malaysia stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia, strongly condemns the attack on the holy city," he said in his latest Facebook and Twitter postings today.
On Oct 27, Arab coalition forces succeeded in intercepting and destroying a guided ballistic missile launched by Houthi rebels about 65 km from Makkah.
The Houthi rebels also launched a similar attack at a Saudi Arabia air base in Taif on Oct 10. --Bernama
