The government on Thursday denied that 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) Chief Executive Officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy had produced false bank statements pertaining to the company's subsidiary from a BSI Bank branch in Singapore.

"Yang berhormat's statement that Arul Kanda had obtained bank statements not belonging to BSI is not true," Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said in a written reply to Datuk Mohd Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz (DAP-Raub) in the Dewan Rakyat here today.

Mohd Ariff suggested that Arul Kanda had allegedly obtained bank statements not belonging BSI, and as such he is in possession of forged documents and 1MDB is liable to legal action by BSI.
