Najib gives aid to ex-Bandar Baru Selayang Wanita head

Former Bandar Baru Selayang Wanita Head, Saridah Ibrahim was touched that the party still stands with her even in bad times.

In 2014, she became paralysed and wheelchair-bound after she was involved in an accident on her way back from campaigning for Barisan Nasional in the Kajang State Assembly by-election.

"Whatever happens, I will be with UMNO and will fight for my party," she told reporters after UMNO President Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak spent time with her during the UMNO General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.

He then presented a cash contribution of RM5,000 to her, courtesy of the Welfare Bureau of UMNO Malaysia.

Also present were UMNO Vice-President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Wanita UMNO Head Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and several delegates.

UMNO Welfare Bureau said in a statement that it constantly monitored Saridah's health and contributed to her daily needs on a monthly basis. -- Bernama
