Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today visited the National Zoo to see the giant pandas, Feng Yi and Fu Wa.
The pandas arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Wednesday and is currently under quarantine for 30 days before they can be shown to the public at the end of June.
An estimated RM25 million was spent to construct a giant panda complex at the National Zoo by engaging the special exhibit area of 1.6 hectares.
Najib uploaded his photo with the pandas from China via Twitter.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein also uploaded a picture of him and his wife visiting the panda on his Twitter account.

Malaysia will need to pay RM3 million to China every year for a duration of 10 years to take care the animal.
This was agreed in the Cooperation Agreement Giant Panda Conservation International signed between Malaysia and China Wildlife Conservation Association on June 15, 2012.
The cost to take care of the panda by the National Zoo is estimated to be RM1.5 million per annum.
