Najib joins over 4,000 Muslims in ushering Maal Hijrah 1436H

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Friday night joined a congregation of over 4,000 in reciting the Yasin and du'a selamat at the Masjid Negara here to usher in Maal Hijrah 1436H.
The ceremony began with the reciting of the 1435H year-end du'a followed by the du'a for 1436H and then Maghrib prayers, reciting of the Yasin, tahlil and du'a selamat, and Isyak prayers.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.
Earlier, the congregation listened to a 45-minute religious forum titled "Unity the Pulse of National Transformation" which was also carried live by RTM.
The panelists were Federal Territories Mufti Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri and Malaysia University of Technology lecturer, Norhafizah Musa.
The national-level Maal Hijrah celebration will be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on Saturday.
