The Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) has brushed off the allegation that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had ignored all previous government policies which were proven to have benefitted the people.
Its chairman, Tan Sri Shahrir Abd Samad said such policies still existed but had been revived by Najib to suit the current changes.
"Our country has changed. It's no longer an agricultural country but a country that focuses on various sectors including services.
"As such, the enacted policies have certainly changed including the policy which promotes foreign investment," he told reporters after launching the Johor Bahru City Foundation Integrated Education Project 2017 here Saturday.
Shahrir was commenting on the allegation by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during a speech here last night.
Dr Mahathir claimed that Najib had ignored and rejected the government policies which had benefitted the people including the policies introduced by the latter's father, the late Tun Abdul Razak.
Meanwhile, on another allegation by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that Felda areas were no longer Barisan Nasional's strongholds, Shahrir said: "Anyone can say that, can incite but for me, I solve problem because I know inciting won't solve problems but will only create one." -- Bernama
