"Najib the real protagonist of the fall of Kedah PH" - Mukhriz Mahathir

Former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been alleged as the ‘mastermind’ of overthrowing the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in Kedah and causing Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir to lose his second term as Menteri Besar.

According to Mukhriz, despite the directive to oust him as Menteri Besar came from the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also president of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), Najib was the figure behind the plot.

"Although the directive to bring me down in Kedah came from the Bersatu president through (Datuk Seri) Hamzah Zainuddin (Bersatu secretary-general), the real protagonist is still the same person as before, that is Najib Razak.

"His aim is nothing more than to free himself from the alleged breach of trust of 1MDB, SRC International and many other mega scandals that have tarnished Malaysia's reputation worldwide.

"Just look at what happened in the money laundering case of Rosmah Mansor's son Riza Aziz who was given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal from the criminal prosecution," he said at a press conference in Wisma Darul Aman here on Sunday which was also broadcast live on Astro AWANI.
