Najib reminds public to keep up-to-date and be wary of atest cyber scams
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has reminded the public to keep up-to-date and be wary of the latest cyber scams.
"It pays to keep up-to-date with the latest cyber scams. Please be careful especially with bank and credit card details," he said in his twitter account.
His tweet also attached a link to an article published by Bernama with the heading 'Look out for cyber cheats'. The report said cyber crimes such as cheating using the identity of a bank via e-mail and SMS can be avoided if the people are more careful when using technology.
Association of Banks Malaysia (ABM) assistant general manager Joanne Wong said such cases occur when the swindler sends e-mail, SMS or make a telephone call to obtain personal details such as credit card details, password and transaction authorisation code (TAC) from victims by posing as a bank representative.
