PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's appeal against the conviction and sentence of 12 years imprisonment and a fine of RM210 million for misappropriating RM42 million of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds continued at 9am this morning.
The Pekan MP was seen arriving at the Istana Kehakiman compound at 8.51am, accompanied by his lawyer and assistant.
Earlier, one of his officers informed that the defense team would apply to the court for the winding up of the case defense arguments at about 1pm this evening.
Shortly afterwards, a press conference is expected to be held.
Astro AWANI is trying to ascertain whether the press conference will also be attended by Najib or only by the defense team represented by his lawyer.
In the appeal hearing on Monday, the Court of Appeal was told that Najib did not know the money in his bank account was transferred in from SRC International Sdn Bhd.
This is because the former prime minister, at all times, believed that the money in his AmBank account was a balance from the contributions of the Saudi royal family.
The appeal hearing is set for 12 days which is from, April 5 to 8, April 12 to 15 and April 19 to 22.
The former UMNO president's appeal, which was supposed to be heard on February 15, was replaced with a new date following the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
