Najib thanks Rosmah for contributions to Malaysia

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today expressed his gratefulness to his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who he said has contributed to the Malaysian public.
During his winding up speech at the UMNO general assembly, Najib highlighted two instances where Rosmah helped the country.
“At the Flotila programme two years ago, one of our students were wrongly accused of being a spy by the Egyptian government,” he shared.
"I asked my wife to seek help from the wife of Hosni Mubarak, who was in power at the time and within two hours, our student was released,” he said.
In another example, Najib said that Rosmah’s influence was vital during Ops Piramid during the Arab uprising, when the government was trying to bring students on a flight, through Jeddah.
“My wife used her good relations with the royal family to allow the students to return home without visas,” he said.
“Not just that, the Saudi government also gave us two Jumbo jets and brought our students to Riyadh, for free,” he said at Dewan Merdeka, PWTC, today.
His anecdotes reportedly drew applauses from the delegates.
Recently, Rosmah was hugely criticised, especially by the Opposition for using a government executive jet for a private function in Doha, Qatar, last month.
