Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today said he views seriously the case involving disabled children such as that which befallen Muhammad Firdaus Dullah recently.
He said cases like that should not have occurred and he was saddened by the life situation of the teenager, who was met in a pathetic condition in an apartment in Taman Semarak in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan early Saturday morning.
Muhammad Firdaus, 15, was found in an emaciated state in a dirty room full of feces by Negeri Sembilan Immigration Department officers while conducting an inspection of the apartment during a 6P integrated operation.
The Prime Minister in his latest status on his Facebook account, said the government through the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, police and other agencies would ensure the teenager's welfare was taken care of.
"I hoped that the people in Malaysia will be more caring in their attitude towards the needs and welfare of this group and avoid from merely pointing fingers.
"I also would like to thank various quarters for coming forward to provide assistance to Muhammad Firdaus," he said.
The teenager is now receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban.
