Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) political analyst, Prof Madya Dr Fuad Othman said the Cabinet reshuffling by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak shows that he wants a loyal team which will always be with him in any situation.
“There are three matters; First, the reshuffling was done to create a strong Cabinet to complete the country’s many agenda.
“Second, the Prime Minister wants a loyal Cabinet which will always be with him in any situation as it is vital to create a team which can work, not only for the state, but also religion, race and country,” said Dr Fuad when contacted by Astro AWANI today.
The step was also seen as a political move in effort to win the people’s heart in the upcoming General Election.
“This is a political move to prepare Barisan Nasional (BN) for the 14th General Election, the government can prove that they are the best,” he added.
Commenting further, he views the Prime Minister as a leader who is ready to accept opinions.
“As what the Prime Minister said, there is no problem with differences in opinions. He always listens to opinions, however when a matter is issued out of the ordinary, then various problems are bound to happen.
“It should be done using an internal channel, I think that is the best way,” he added.
Asked on the current political landscape, he said that it depends on the ability of the new Cabinet line-up.
“The rakyat will evaluate how far the new Cabinet can deliver their aspiration,” he said.
