Navy man arrested for allegedly trying to molest co-worker

A 21-year-old Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) staff, was arrested after he allegedly tried to molest a co-worker in a storeroom at the RMN base here, yesterday.
Manjung district deputy police chief, DSP Chong Boo Khim said in the incident which occurred on Wednesday at about 10 pm, the female victim in her 30s was at her workplace in a storeroom of the building, when the suspect knocked on the door.
"The victim, who was on duty, opened the door and was shocked when the man suddenly hit her in the head and pushed her causing her head to knock against a cupboard.
"The suspect then lay on top of the victim. The victim tried to scream but the suspect had covered her mouth with his hand. She then bit his finger and gave him a shove before running off for help," he told reporters here today.
Chong said the victim lodged a police report on Thursday at 4 pm and police arrested the suspect at 10 pm the same day.
He said the suspect was being remanded for four days and the case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for criminal force with intent to outrage modesty.
