Negeri Sembilan civil servants to receive RM500 special aid for Aidilfitri

All 6,495 civil servants in Negeri Sembilan will receive the aid together with their salary on June 23.
All 6,495 civil servants in the state will receive a consolation of RM500 in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri which will be paid together with their salary on June 23.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said consolation gift amounting to RM3.9 million, would be enjoyed by permanent, part-time and staff on contract.

"Those working in the government agencies and subsidiaries such as Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan Sdn Bhd, State Islamic Religious Council, Pusat Zakat and other government-linked companies will receive the payment which was approved in the meeting today," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after chairing an executive council meeting at Wisma Negeri here, Wednesday.

In another development, he said the 'Mantai Perdana 2016' programme which gave the people of the state the opportunity to purchase meat at below market price, would be held as in previous years.

Mantai is a state tradition in welcoming the months of Ramadan and Syawal.

In Terengganu, the state government today announced the special financial aid of RM500 will be given to all 7,600 civil servants, including employees of statutory bodies and local authorities in the state, for Aidilfitri preparations.

Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said the financial aid involved a provision of RM3.765 million.

"This is in line with the announcement made by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak on payment of special financial assistance for civil servants at the central level," he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting here.

He said the state government would disburse the payments as soon as possible but no specific date was given.

Ahmad Razif said the state government would also continue with Aidilfitri fundings for 217,001 Terengganu residents eligible this year.

The funds would be distributed according to categories namely RM400 for low-income recipients (families or single parents with children) and RM300 for unmarried recipients aged 40 and above, the elderly, disabled (OKU), widows and widowers (without children), he added.

In Perlis, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man said the government has approved special assistance of RM500 for over 1,200 civil servants and employees of government-linked companies in the state.

"The state treasury will make the payment as soon as possible. Those eligible will receive the aid later this month," he told reporters after breaking fast at the Regency Hotel here, last night.

Also present at the iftar dinner were exco members Datuk Sabry Ahmad, Mohd Jamil Saad, Khairi Hassan and Titi Tinggi assemblyman, Khaw Hock Kong.
