A Nepalese man was found dead with strangulation marks on the neck at a banana farm in Kampung Sungai Lekok, here yesterday.
Jerantut police chief Supt Azid Ismail said the victim in his 20's was believed to have been dead for 24 hours before his body was found by a member of the public at 8 am.
However, the identity of the victim who had just started working there for four months, was still unknown as there were no identification documents found.
"The staff quarters occupied by the victim and his two friends was found disheveled, suspected to be due to a scuffle.
"However, the victim's two friends who are also Nepalese had fled and police are tracking them down to assist investigations," he told a media conference here, today.
The body was later sent to Jerantut Hospital for post-mortem and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
