Nepalese killed by falling oil palm tree

A Nepalese man was killed when an oil palm tree fell and crashed into the hut he was sleeping in, at an oil palm plantation at MK2, Jalan Tasek, Simpang Ampat, near here, early today.
The victim Nuring Nabang, 20, was reported to have died at the scene after being crushed under the hut by the oil palm.
The incident was believed to have happened about 4.30 am when there were heavy rain and strong winds in the area.
Penang Fire and Rescue Department communications officer, Mohd Azman Hussin said the department received a call at 10.25 am and the first fire engine arrived at the location about six minutes later.
"Upon arriving, they found a tree had crushed a hut and the victim who was trapped underneath, had died," he said today.
The victim's body was sent to Sungai Bakap Hospital. - BERNAMA
