Never been to Pahang but lady gets MPK summonses

Fortunately for her, the picture taken by the police speed trap camera in Sungai Ular, Kuantan, proved that it was not her car that committed the offence.

"I was so surprised when I received the summonses. The car was a similar Mercedes Benz model and the plate number was the same but the vehicle was black while mine is silver," she told a news conference here organised by Gelang Patah MCA Division chief Jason Teoh.

Lim said someone could have duplicated her car registration plate number. She said she and her husband had travelled only to Kuala Lumpur on business and were in Johor when the supposed offences took place between March and October last year.

She said she refused to pay the RM60 parking summonses and the traffic summons issued under Section 115 of the Road Transport Act as she did not commit the offences.

She expressed the fear that the other driver could use the car with the duplicate plate number to commit crimes, which could land her in trouble.

Lim lodged a report with the Road Transport Department (RTD) but it had no jurisdiction over the case pending police investigation.

Teoh said he would assist Lim in the matter by writing to the police, the Public Complaints Bureau as well as the RTD.
