She said that from Nov 1 this year, the government had raised the Fixed Housing Allowance (ITP), including for the Implementer Group at a minimum rate of RM300 per month.
The new minimum starting salary for the civil service at RM1,200 per month takes effect from July 1 next year, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
She said that from Nov 1 this year, the government had raised the Fixed Housing Allowance (ITP), including for the Implementer Group at a minimum rate of RM300 per month and officers living in quarters also received 25 percent of the ITP rate.
"These upgrades were implemented through Service Circular No.8 of 2015 - Fixed Housing Allowance For Federal Civil Service Officers," she said in a written reply to a question by Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim (BN-Kuala Selangor) that was circulated in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Azalina said the government from time to time conducts a study and revision of salaries of civil servants as a whole, which also includes those in the lower rung (support groups).
