Newborn baby found abandoned at Subang Jaya mosque

A newborn baby who still had her umbilical cord attached was found at a mosque in SS15, here at 7.20am today.
The infant was abandoned beside a drain behind the mosque and was discovered with ant bites covering the body.
According to police, the premature baby weighing a minuscule 1.78 kg is aged not more than 32 weeks.
University Malaya Medical Centre officer who was at the scene said that bruises were found on the left side of the baby’s feet.
The infant is now being treated at UMMC and in stable condition.
The Social Welfare Department has been contacted for further investigation.
Investigation is still in progress and no arrests have been made following the discovery of the infant.
