Newborn baby found floating at a beach

The body of a newborn baby boy was found floating at Pantai Kuala Laut, Taman Teluk Villa in Putatan here today.

Penampang District Police Chief DSP Ratan Kumar Singh said the body was found by an angler at about 11.20am.

Police believed the baby was delivered less than 24 hours before the body was found, he added.

He said the body was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.

He urged those with information on the case to contact investigating officer, Inspector Hasryman Osman at 088-71222.
