News: The Isuzu that will challenge Borneo

Isuzu take on the Borneo Safari challenge for the eight time running. By Arvind Kumar

The Borneo Safari is Asia’s toughest 4x4 challenge. Now in its 24th instalment, the event attracts off-roading aficionados from all over the world to pit their skills and rugged mud-slingers in an attempt to tame the jungles of Borneo. This is also the eighth successive year Isuzu will be participating and also supporting the proceedings as a Diamond sponsor.

Isuzu will run an off-the-shelf Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 3.0-litre peppered with minimal modifications in the form of a snorkel, off-road tyres, heavy duty side steps and a winch in case things get hairy. The challenge showcases the astounding off-road capability and traction of the Isuzu D-Max which is able to get in the ring with much higher powered thoroughbreds through some of the most arduous terrain Sabah has to offer.

The Isuzu D-Max will be used to ferry media personnel to get up close to the action in this gruelling eight day adventure. The Borneo Safari begins on the 26th of October and will take participants on a challenging loop of central Sabah including a stop-off at the immensely challenging highland terrain in the Imbak Canyon Conservation Centre.
