It’s a trend to hit car models with shrink rays but Mazda did the opposite. By Jerrica Leong
We told you to look forward to the CX-3’s reveal last month and now here it is. It looks very much like a Mazda 2, don’t you think? Global launches are expected to start from Japan in spring 2015, which means next year around April in Malaysian terms.
The new compact SUV is set to become the core model of in the automaker’s line-up due to the fact that it was designed to offer all the essential people look for in a car; a design of overwhelming quality and style. Just like all urban SUVs, the CX-3 is developed to suit the driver’s creative lifestyle in any scene whether if it’s in the city or the countryside.
As mentioned in our earlier post, the CX-3 is equipped with the full range of Skyactiv technology including the Mazda Connect car connectivity system and 1-Activesense safety features.
Owners will have a choice between the Skyactiv 1.5-litre clean diesel engine and Skyactiv G 2.0-litre gasoline engine, depending on the market. Those engines will be combined with Mazda’s new-generation AWD system that will deliver powerful and linear driving performance.
It is all sounding very exciting for the CX-3 and I’m sure many can’t wait before this compact SUV hits our shores. Instead of a shrink ray, the designers at Mazda seem to have hit the Mazda 2 with a growth ray. Agree?
