Social media news that former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has agreed to join the Bersih 4.0 rally is false.

His former political secretary Datuk Mohd Nardin Awang said the news was circulated by irresponsible parties with malicious intent.

"Muhyiddin has never stated through any of his former political secretaries that he will join the Bersih 4.0 rally.

"And there has been no communication between any of his former political secretaries and Bersih 4.0 organisers as claimed," Mohd Nardin said in a statement today.

Moreover, he said, Muhyiddin was presently overseas.
