This is probably the most unconventional race that would ever take place. A Volvo truck taking on a mega car from Koenigsegg, who are famed for their hypercars like the Agera S! All for the purpose of proving that under the Volvo hood is the heart of a sports car.
Volvo Trucks recently launched their new I-shift Dual Clutch gearbox. The new transmission that Volvo just launched is said to be built based on the same technology as that used in sports cars. This is why Volvo Trucks is pitting the new Volvo FH against the world’s first mega car: the Koenigsegg One:1.
The I-shift Dual Clutch gearbox prides itself in terms of drivability and driving comfort that comes with seamless gear shifting, the test that Volvo Trucks carried out is to prove to the world that the gearbox is really as good as they have stated.
Ring Knutstorp in southern Sweden, a track known for its hills and sharp curves, is to be the location the showdown. Behind the wheel of the Volvo FH is former racing driver Tiff Needell who is also the host of the British motoring TV series Fifth Gear.
