NGO chairman remanded over demand for protection money

The Magistrate's Court today issued an order to remand an NGO chairman for two days from today over a police investigation into a demand for protection money.
Seremban Lower Courts assistant registrar Nor Anida Norhamdan issued the order to the police at 10am.
The NGO chairman was picked up by a police team from the Bukit Aman CID Department near the Nilai toll plaza at 10.50pm yesterday.
The police are investigating a demand for RM25,000 protection money from the operator of an illegal lottery last night.
