NGOs lodge police report against "Chow Jack" over offensive Facebook posting

Eight NGOs today lodged a police report against a Facebook account owner that goes by the name Jack Chow for allegedly insulting Islam, Prophet Muhammad, Perak Sultan and the prime minister.

The NGOs are Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM), Ikatan Rakyat Insan Muslim Malaysia, Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM), Gerak Kerja Ayahanda Negeri Selangor, Malay Army Veterans Association, Majlis Ayahanda Malaysia, Klang Malays Welfare Organisation and Persatuan Sosial Minda Pemikiran.

The representatives of the NGOs made the report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters, here, about 10.30am against "Chow Jack" for the offensive posting.

MJMM president Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah said the police report was lodged to ask the police to investigate and take stern action against the individual involved.
