Nigerian woman in Singapore cleared of Ebola
Ebola is fast spreading in West Africa
A Nigerian woman who underwent a medical check-up at a hospital in Singapore has been cleared of the Ebola virus, reported the Straits Times online.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) chief executive Prof Philip Choo told the paper that the woman was discharged after medical check-up found that she did not carry the virus as suspected earlier.
Earlier, the woman was transferred from Gleneagles Hospital in the republic to the TTSH Communicable Diseases Centre.
“We saw a patient with a history from Nigeria but her detailed history revealed "no contact with any suspect or confirmed patients," he told the daily.
Ebola is fast spreading in West Africa and is feared that the viral disease will spread to other parts of the world.
The woman, who is in her 50s, entered Singapore recently and had arrived at the Gleneagles Hospital with a fever on Thursday morning.
She was immediately isolated and transferred t0 the TTSH.
