Nine-year-old boy falls to death from 20th floor condo in Kota Damansara

A nine-year- old boy fell to his death from the 20th floor of the Palm Spring Condominium in Kota Damansara last night, police said.

Chen Jing Wei, a Standard Three pupil of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Damansara, fell after he stepped onto the air-conditioning compressor at the balcony of the condominium unit, said Petaling Jaya Police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din.

Only Chen's elder brother and sister, aged 16 and 17 respectively, were at home at the time of the incident at 8pm, he said.

The sister said Chen would usually be at the balcony while waiting for their parents to return from work, he added.

Chen's body was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital. His parents were overcome with grief to speak to reporters.
