The number of quarantine centres for Malaysians returning from overseas remains the same at this time without any addition, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said there was no need for additional ones as the existing centres still had room for compulsory quarantine processes.
"No one should be confused and worried as vacancy occurs when those quarantined comes out after completing the process.
"To date, 245 quarantine centres have been operating as before, with 16,820 individuals undergoing mandatory quarantine," he said in a daily press conference here on Friday.
According to Ismail Sabri, another 815 Malaysians returned home and were sent straight to compulsory quarantine yesterday.
"In total, 30,315 Malaysians returning from overseas have been quarantined since April 3.
"Since April 17, a total of 19,873 individuals have completed the mandatory quarantine period and are allowed to return home," he said.
