No cloud seeding required in Penang despite hot spell
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said cloud seeding was not necessary in Penang despite the hot spell since Penang has enough water supply to last until the end of March.
He said business premises, hotels and industries can continue to go about doing their business as normal.
"However, as a precautionary measure, the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) will conduct a review if there is no rain by the end of next month," he told reporters after launching the 'The Aqua Save Programme Briefing' and certificate presentation, here Tuesday.
Lim said once the Mengkuang Dam in Bukit Mertajam was completed in two years, Penang can sustain for four months without rain. If we are careful and prudent in conserving water, the water reserve can last even longer," he said.
