Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has promised stern action to be taken against the perpetrators who tamper with reports and spread false allegations especially on social networks.
He said there will be no compromise for media that twist news reports and create false allegation.
"There will be no compromise on spinning, not under my leadership," he told reporters after the launch of the Bayan Baru Umno division delegates' meeting in Penang this morning.

Ahmad Zahid who is also the home minister said there are ethics in journalism that should be upheld and the media should not abuse the freedom given to them.
Commenting on reports that he will order for social media to be shut down, Ahmad Zahid said he had ordered police to investigate the person responsible in making the accusation viral.
He also asked the person responsible to retract such accusation.
