There will be no compromise with any individuals, including politicians, found to be involved in triad, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

He said the police were able to gather evidence against those involved whether they were politicians or not.

The law will be enforced so that the police will not be accused of compromising with alleged criminals, he said when asked to comment on a Sin Chew Daily report that a number of prominent politicians were behind several gangs.

The gangs were Gang 04, Gang 08, Gang 21 and Gang 36 made up of the Indians; Hong Shun Tang, 3821, Wu Se Qi, Hong Men and Hua Ji Dang (the Chinese); and Calit 3 Gang (the Malays).

Meanwhile, Sarawak Assistant Housing Minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said parties should take disciplinary against politicians found to be involved in secret societies, including sacking if there were sufficient evidence.
