No decision yet on Friday prayers and congregation prayers at mosques

There have been no decision made on Friday and congregation prayers at mosques that are currently not allowed following the of COVID-19 outbreak.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the matter which involved a major decision was referred to the Special Committee of the National Security Council (MKN) chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The committee will then bring the matter to a Cabinet meeting to make a decision.

"On the subject of deliberation, the Insya-Allah the Minister of Religious Affairs has presented to the meeting this morning, and as such this matter involved a major decision, religious issues and so on.

"So, we decided to refer it to the Special Committee of MKN chaired by the Prime Minister.

"After that, it will be brought to the Cabinet meeting for a decision. So, please wait, after the Cabinet decides, it may be announced by the Minister of Religious Affairs," he said at a press conference here on Saturday.
