IPOH: The federal government's announcement that all government projects that have not commenced, be postponed or cancelled as a cost-saving measure, does not involve the projects in Perak.
Its Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said it was because these projects involved the state government and which had already started and continuing these projects was not a problem.
"That announcement was made by the minister in charge of the Economic Planning Unit and Implementation Coordination Unit, which might have been made based on their allocations.
"But we in Perak have no problem (with the announcement) as the projects have already started and will continue. Those affected might be federal government projects," he said briefly on the matter at a news conference after the adjournment of the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, today.
This was following the announcement by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed on Sunday that all development projects that had not started, be postponed or cancelled as a cost-saving measure, with the directive given through the Malaysian Treasury's circular titled, 'Public Spending Saving Guidelines'.
Mohamed said that he had held a meeting with the relevant agencies to identify the projects involved.
