The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has decided to take no further action (NFA) on the protest against a church in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya last April 20.
The Home Ministry, in a written reply issued in the Dewan Rakyat today, said the decision was made following the police's completion of the investigation papers and submission to the AGC.
"…The police had opened investigation papers pertaining to the Petaling Jaya Report 5415/2015 under Section 448/511 of the Penal Code on the offence of attempted trespassing.
"In the incident, more than 40 people had gathered at the premises (Taman Medan Metro Square)," the written reply said.
The issue was raised by Khalid Abdul Samad (Amanah-Shah Alam) who had asked the Home Minister on the status of the investigation of the case.
Besides that, Khalid also asked the Home Minister on the status of the protest incident at Low Yat Plaza in Jalan Bukit Bintang here last July 12.
According to the ministry, police had opened three investigations papers on the riot.
In its written reply to the Dewan Rakyat, the ministry said an individual had been arrested and probed under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
"On the TH Report 23346/15 and investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code, an individual had been arrested and charged in court, and had been tried from Nov 30 until Dec 1.
"On the TH Report 23377/15 investigated under Section 147/427 of the Penal Code (for rioting), a total of five individuals have been arrested and are still under investigation," the reply said.
In addition, four others had been arrested and charged in court last Aug 10 under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
Three of the four had been fined RM1,800 each while the other had been freed.
