No Malaysian affected by quake in Afghanistan

No Malaysians are affected by the earthquake that struck the north-eastern part of Afghanistan Monday, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
This was confirmed by the Malaysian Embassies in Islamabad and New Delhi, and the Consulate-General of Malaysia in Karachi, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry today.
The ministry said that they would continue to monitor the quake situation.
The Malaysian government also extended its profound sympathy and condolences to the government and peoples of Pakistan, Afghanistan and India, particularly to the families and victims those affected by the earthquake, the statement said.
A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan around 5.09pm Monday.
Media reported that more than 270 people were killed, mostly in Pakistan.
Tremors were also felt by residents in northern India and Tajikistan, following the quake.
